How to organize your email inbox

March 4th, 2008 · 3 Comments

Ah will the wonders of the web ever cease? I was on Twitter on Saturday when I came across a tweet from Chris Brogan to Julien Smith about Inbox Zero. Inbox Zero is a video by Google of Merlin Mann’s talk on how to organize your email. Thanks to Chris for posting about it. It made me want to share it with you guys too.

I must admit, I began to watch the video a few months ago, but for whatever reason I got distracted. I finally sat down Saturday night and watched the full thing. Wow. I highly recommend you watch this. I am proud to say that while watching it I created loads of new rules in my Mac Mail resulting in my Inbox contents changing from 800+ messages to 0. I also created new filters in my Gmail to better handle the inbox.

How do you keep your inbox organized? Do you have any tips?

This is a great feed. I would like to add that in addition to following Merlin’s tips, I highly recommend you try NutshellMail.com. It is a free service that will help you to manage all your email and social networking accounts through any inbox you already use. For disclosure, i am a co-founder, but truly believe anyone reading this feed, will find our free service to be very useful. Thanks for the post.
