Care to be enlightened? Take my TED challenge

September 16th, 2008 · Comments

I am hooked on TED talks. If you don’t know, TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from those three worlds. Since then its scope has become ever broader. I stole that description from the website, because it sums it up perfectly.

Take a visit to the TED site and you’ll likely recognize some of the speakers, many of the topics are often quite familiar too. While I highly recommend you watch some of the presentations that you’re interested in for those reasons, I also suggest you do the opposite.

My TED challenge is to:

  • visit this page
  • randomly scroll down
  • click on any of the links
  • watch the presentation
  • if you enjoy my challenge please share it with your friends (click the Share This link at the bottom of this page)

You’ll be amazed at what you learn from the speaker. I guarantee you’ll be impressed by what you see. Please post a link to the session you find, and let us know what you think of the speaker and topic in a comment on this post.

I just did this and watched Chris Abani, I highly recommend you watch this video while you’re at it. I believe his presentation is among the best I’ve seen from TED so far. His stories about humanity are hilarious, horrific and touching. Watch this.

Which presentation did you watch? Who was the speaker? What was the topic? Did you enjoy it?
